1st Shift Crane Assistant/Outdoor Material Handler

Global Power Components is a privately held, growing manufacturer of UL heavy gauge steel fuel tanks, trailers, large generator enclosures and modular metal enclosures for housing fully-equipped electrical distribution and control equipment. 

We are seeking 1st Shift Crane Assistant/Outdoor Material Handler to assist in the movement of materials – industrial fuel tanks, generator enclosures, trailers, sheet metal etc.

Responsibilities: (what you will be doing)
  • 95% Working outdoors - Year round, ANY type of weather
  • Move materials to work areas in preparation for building and or shipping products
  • Coordinate and stage materials quickly and safely
  • Read blueprints to determine materials necessary for projects as well as timelines to prepare for projects
Requirements: (what it takes to be successful)
  • Preferred experience with Overhead and or Gantry Crane
  • Preferred experience as a material handler
  • Preferred Forklift experience (sit-down)
  • 1-3 years in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to be cross trained
  • Able to troubleshoot and problem solve
  • Must be highly motivated
  • Able to communicate and work well with others
  • Pay attention to details and have a strong drive to succeed
  • Must pass competency test and pre-employment physical including drug screen*
  • Ability to read blueprints to be able to pick appropriate materials*
  • *There will be a pre-employment test in these items
