Position Summary
The Tool Room Attendant supports GPC operations by issuing, tracking, and maintaining tools and equipment used on the production floor. This role ensures tool availability, accurate inventory control, and proper documentation to keep production running efficiently and safely.
Key Responsibilities
- Issue and receive tools using GPC’s sign‑out procedures; maintain accurate digital and paper records.
- Perform basic inspections on impacts, drills, crimpers, welding tools, and other equipment before and after use.
- Track damaged tools, coordinate repairs, and maintain repair history logs.
- Audit tool carts and workstations to ensure proper tool placement and condition.
- Maintain organized tool crib storage and assist with restocking and labeling.
- Perform routine inventory counts of tools and consumables; report shortages or discrepancies promptly.
- Follow all GPC safety, quality, and accountability standards.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a tool room, warehouse, or inventory control role.
- Working knowledge of power tools, crimpers, and basic welding tools.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office for logging, tracking, and reporting.
- Experience with ERP systems, preferably Epicor.
- Strong organization and recordkeeping skills.
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs. and work in a fast‑paced production environment.
