Global Power Components is a privately held, growing manufacturer of UL heavy gauge steel fuel tanks, trailers, large generator enclosures, and modular metal enclosures for housing fully equipped electrical distribution and control equipment. As a result of our expansion, we are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join our growing team.
Responsibilities:
- Support of day-to-day production and technical issues related to the production of engineered to order (ETO) products.
- Creation of standard operating procedures (SOP) capturing current production processes while implementing safety, ergonomic, and production rate improvements.
- Development, auditing, and continuous improvement of department quality and production goals while serving as a technical point of contact for supervisors and production operators.
- Read and interpret technical drawings and requirements.
- Create manufacturing plans which meet customer requirements and specifications.
- Utilize ERP software to guide production processes and costs.
- Directly engage with Production departments and staff to ensure robust processes and flow.
- Support efforts to identify and implement cost reduction and continuous improvement opportunities.
- Collaborate with Industrial Engineering and support team projects.
- Provide exceptional customer service and on-time delivery.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Ability to become intimately familiar with manufacturing processes.
- Interested in working primarily in a fast-paced, production environment.
- Able to regularly work on multiple projects with changing priorities.
- Ability to read and understand technical prints and specifications.
- Work equally well alone or in a cross functional team.
- Interested or experienced in utilizing ERP software on a regular basis.
- Entry level or up to three years of experience is preferred.
- A signed non-compete and non-disclosure (confidentiality) agreement is needed
- Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline or a related field of study is preferred.
- Must pass competency test and pre-employment physical including drug screen
