Manufacturing Engineer

Overview:
Global Power Components is a privately held, growing manufacturer of UL heavy gauge steel fuel tanks, trailers, large generator enclosures, and modular metal enclosures for housing fully equipped electrical distribution and control equipment. We have moved operations into a newly renovated 300,000 sq. foot facility that will foster our continued growth as we continue to be recognized as the undisputed leaders in our industry. As a result of our expansion, we are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join our growing team.

Responsibilities:
  • Support of day-to-day production and technical issues related to the production of engineered to order (ETO) products.
  • Creation of standard operating procedures (SOP) capturing current production processes while implementing safety, ergonomic, and production rate improvements.
  • Development, auditing, and continuous improvement of department quality and production goals while serving as a technical point of contact for supervisors and production operators.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings and requirements.
  • Create manufacturing plans which meet customer requirements and specifications.
  • Utilize ERP software to guide production processes and costs.
  • Directly engage with Production departments and staff to ensure robust processes and flow.
  • Support efforts to identify and implement cost reduction and continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Collaborate with Industrial Engineering and support team projects.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and on-time delivery.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
  • Ability to become intimately familiar with manufacturing processes.
  • Interested in working primarily in a fast-paced, production environment.
  • Able to regularly work on multiple projects with changing priorities.
  • Ability to read and understand technical prints and specifications.
  • Work equally well alone or in a cross functional team.
  • Interested or experienced in utilizing ERP software on a regular basis.
  • Entry level or up to three years of experience is preferred.
  • A signed non-compete and non-disclosure (confidentiality) agreement is needed
  • Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline or a related field of study is preferred.
  • Must pass competency test and pre-employment physical including drug screen
