Global Power Components is a privately held, financially sound, growing manufacturer of UL heavy gauge steel fuel tanks, trailers, large generator enclosures and modular metal enclosures for housing fully equipped electrical distribution and control equipment. As a result of our continuing expansion and continued organizational growth, we are looking for a motivated Material Coordinatorto join our team.
Please note this position is 100% onsite
Position Summary: This position will be responsible for:
Implement improvement projects at department locations with guidance from supervisor.
Help create and document standard operating procedures (SOPs) and best practices for preproduction and material handing operations.
Perform audits of department areas, operations, and inventory records.
Work with vendors to coordinate the delivery of material and address discrepancies.
Help coordinate the flow of material between company production facilities and warehouses.
Proactively identify and resolve material issues with projects in production.
Schedule preproduction assembly work to align with master schedule priorities and dates.
Work with Purchasing to source material for projects.
Work with shop floor personnel to ensure that projects are being completed according to schedule.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED
3+ years work experience or college degree in a relevant field
Experience in electrical material supply chain preferred.
Ability to lift 50 lbs.
Must have valid driver's license and vehicle. Travel between GPC facilities will be required.
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Willingness to work in a team environment or solo interchangeably
