Global Power Components has over 350,000 square feet of production in Milwaukee, WI. Our product line is diverse in Utility, Power Grid, Standby Power Generation, Renewables, and Data Center. All of our products are custom for bid spec jobs and many of those are multiyear contracts that provide years of visibility.
Job Overview:
We are a fast-growing manufacturing company specializing in custom, engineered-to-order products. We are looking for an experienced Controller to manage our financial operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of financial statements, managing financial transactions, and providing financial advice to the senior management team. The Controller will also be responsible for managing the accounting team, creating and implementing financial policies and procedures, and developing financial reports for the company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the continued growth of the company and be a key member of our management team
- Provide financial advice to the senior management team to inform decision-making
- Conduct financial analysis to identify trends and opportunities for improvement, with a focus on cost control and reduction
- Job costing and profitability, including implementation of the processes to support accurate actual to estimate reporting and analysis
- Prepare and present financial reports to the senior management team
- Develop and maintain financial policies and procedures supporting the growth of the company and expanding our cost accounting function
- Manage the company's financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll, ensuring accurate and timely recording of costs and revenues
- Manage the accounting team to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, with a focus on cost accounting for our custom, engineered-to-order products
- Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports
- Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and laws
- Develop and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, such as external auditor, tax profession and banks
- Monitor and manage cash flow to ensure the company has adequate liquidity
- Manage the company's budgeting process and monitor actual results against budget
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in a senior finance or accounting role, preferably in a manufacturing environment
- Proven track record of success with increasing responsibility
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in ERP systems with a strong understanding of cost accounting modules and functionality
