Global Power Components is a privately held, growing manufacturer of UL heavy gauge steel fuel tanks, trailers, large generator enclosures and modular metal enclosures for housing fully equipped electrical distribution and control equipment. 

As a result of our continued growth, we are adding an additional Electrical Engineer to our team.   

Responsibilities

• Perform design, layout, and load calculations.
• Complete accurate drawings, including wiring schematics, conduit and equipment layouts, and detail drawings for construction.
• Complete accurate BOM’s, and assist purchasing with part substitutions.
• Create labels, panel schedules, and other documentation needed for construction.
• Work with production as needed on questions pertaining to design.
• Assist with quality control and testing of finished products.
• Assist with cost estimating for electrical portion of projects. 

Required Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work independently while also collaborating with other Engineers, Production, Quality Control, etc.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or 2 years’ experience in a related electrical field.
• Valid Driver’s License with ability to occasionally travel between our 4 Milwaukee area facilities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiency in typing, Microsoft Excel, and Word.
• 1+ year experience with AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of the National Electrical Code and experience performing electrical load calculations.
• Experience with large power generation equipment or with layout and construction of electrical equipment rooms.
