Global Power Components is a privately held, growing manufacturer of UL heavy gauge steel fuel tanks, trailers, large generator enclosures and modular metal enclosures for housing fully-equipped electrical distribution and control equipment. 

Along with a newly renovated 300,000 sq. foot facility we are expanding into another 180,000 sq. foot facility that will foster our continued growth as we continue to be recognized as the undisputed leaders in our industry.

As a result of our expansion we are looking for an Electrical Engineering Assistant. This position offers someone starting in an engineering career many opportunities to develop professionally within our Electrical Engineering team.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Work with Electrical Engineering team and Production to produce Standard Work Practices.
• Check accuracy of prefabricated material kits delivered to Production.
• Regularly work with testing team to gather information on frequent installation issues and questions on proper installation.
• Verify accuracy of vendor invoicing for project material.
• Track/record tool data, including repair tracking and logging tool performance issues. 
• Procure tools and equipment as needed for assembly, testing, and field service. 
• Work with other groups within the organization on various company initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Excellent communication skills is a must.
• Ability to work independently while also collaborating with other Engineers, Production, Quality Control, etc.
• Proficiency in typing, Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Willingness to learn and implement company processes and quality standards.
• -Candidates should have 2+ years experience in a manufacturing environment.  A Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering discipline, or working towards such a degree is a plus.
• Valid Driver’s License with ability to occasionally travel between our 4 Milwaukee area facilities.
• High School Diploma or GED
